Hi everyone,
Whilst we have had Cochins for the last 6years (in the mix of breeds that was the big hen house), my sons (6 & 8) have used their pocket money to buy three beautiful Pekins and some eggs (in the incubator).
They are planning on breeding the sweetest ones, not for showing so much but for pets for children. They have dubbed it their little pet farm!
The way things have fallen and despite my best efforts, we purchased a beautiful 4mo Roo who is black with white spots. (Photos once rain stops) we also have a 1yo Roo who is strikingly beautiful but quite pecky, uber dominant and will only tolerate me handling it (from a breeder at the local bantam show). And then there is poor Skye, a stunning buff and blue coloured hen (9mo). The second Roo came with her as an unconditional freebie
they eggs are from a buff hen and a white & tan frizzle Pekin Roo.
We are wondering
I have no idea how colour crosses go, but would they be better breeding from the nice ones or worrying more about colouring?
Tia!
