I need help. I'm on a lake and have 10 male ducks that are really hurting the female.
They are wild but she kinda lets me get close.
I put her on the covered dock and she stays underneath the lawn chairs. She is with her male but he is exhausted too.
What can I do? She can't even find a place to nest bc the others bully her. I am feeding her and her mate premium duck food, I bought hay to make her a bed and I take fresh water out everyday.
Her wing is screwed up and neck raw.
She a young little girl.
There is a "gang" of 3 males and one is all dark brown. These creeps bully all the other ducks.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm new to this
Thank you

In the wild many times female ducks are drowned by many drakes trying to mate her at once.I wonder if you called fish and wildlife if the would come and pick her and her mate up. Or talk to a wild life rescue Organization they might help.
These being wild makes it a sticky situation.

Being out of the water makes them prime targets for predators though. Really you need to get in touch with a wild life rescue or a rehabber.

That is so sweet your trying to help them. Bless you.

Hello....A wildlife officer will not respond because what is happening is natural in the Duck world...You have a mated pair and then bachelor Drakes all trying to mate the Hen..Ducks do not mate for life , only a season..The Drake she chose as her mate has to constantly keep the bachelor Drakes away...Wild Bachelor Mallard Drakes are flying into my yard to get at my domestic ducks..:(.....I have to keep mine preened up till after the breeding season is over...

Sorry the Hen is being terrorized...:(.....

Best wishes...:)

@rabail What do you usually feed your duck. Does she constantly have access to feed that is for poultry? If you feel it's a deficiency then vitamins may help especially one that has niacin in it How old is your duck? Parasites is another can you worm do you have access to poultry wormers? I'd try the deficiency problem first and not over whelm her with worming at the same time. If water fowl are kept in uncrowded conditions and have access to clean drinking water and not kept penned in unsanitary conditions they very rarely get parasites.

Do you have drakes? asking because drakes or multiple drakes can cause a females duck to get weak and injured from over mating.

Very true but if the female duck is injured a rehabber may come to the rescue.

is she laying eggs? Do they have access to foraging for most of their food? okay wheat is okay spinach no because it interferes with calcium uptake and she needs calcium for proper egg laying, rice is it cooked? hard to digest other wise I would think. does she have access to grit to help her grind up what your feeding her? maize or corn is okay for treat but should be limited because it contains mostly carbs and a female duck will get fat and needs alot more nutrients than what corn can give. If it's mixed into her reg feed and in small portions then it would be okay. I'd zero in on her feed. Can you get feed for poultry? that way you know she and the rest of your Mallards are getting the proper nutrients they need? If you can't then I would do some research on line about what makes up a good feed for water fowl. I've thought many times about making up my own feed for my flock but I can't access all of what they would need with out it costing a fortune so I stick with feed already made up. I am getting the idea your not in the USA and i realize it's harder some places to get things but check with your local feed stores or neighbors who keep poultry and find out where they get there feed or what they use to have healthy ducks and birds in general. Go to those who have healthy birds though. Sounds like you want to do the best for your duck/s.
