I am ssssooooo upset at myself
Ok so we havé serama eggs hatching
One did this morning and my young cat ( we have 3 and the others never ever got any interest in the chickens that way) jumped on the counter and got the whole incubator on the floor!
Thank fully a misplace rug cushioned the landing
The chick is ok but one of the egg got real bad.
It is due to hatch in a couple of days. I am worried that putting candles wax would be to hot and damaged even now
I do not think that the membrane is damaged at all
The wee one though is roaming about and could do more damage.
I don't have a spare incubator to put the chick in
Or the wee damaged egg in.
What could be the next option?
Ps I really want to try to help that chick if at all possible

Welcome to BYC! Looking at the pics it seems the membranes are thankfully still intact, but moisture loss would be a concern for me at the moment. You said the egg is due to hatch in a couple of days, when exactly?

I don't think candle wax sealing would be good at this stage and with that extensive damage.

It is due to hatch on the 29th
I had another chick in there so now that he/she is out I am going to put more wet kitchen paper to raise the humidity to a higher level
We did see movement in the egg only an hour ago so there is life in there
