Absolute newbie to farm animals! My wife is a vet, and she had this idea that we could meet all our egg needs with 6 Indian Runners. We went to a farm auction and ended up with 3 Australian Spotted Ducks. Not the ones she had intended, but they took her fancy.

We might still get another 3 Indian Runners at some point (the City allows us 6 ducks).

So ... anything more you want to know, just ask!
