Last fall I watched 7 muscovy ducklings grow and eventually leave my backyard pond. I fed them up until they left. The mom hung around for a while afterward but i haven't seen her in anout 2 months now. One of her little females would leave for a couple days but always returned to eat. She was always with about 4 males ready for breakfast every morning but over the last month I've noticed she isn't with the males but under a neighbors bay window. She comes waddling over once i start feeding the males. I'm guessing she's nesting and getting ready to lay eggs but i have no idea.
She also now walks with her neck squished down close to her body, I'm not sure if that is a sign of her getting ready to lay eggs or something she's always done and i just didn't notice.
I've attached pictures of where she sits under the bay window and her as she's walking with her neck low against her body. Can someone tell me if these are signs that she's ready to lay eggs?
