A short video of the smartest chicken in my flock.......competing with the ducks for food....

Mr. Briggs might not last if "he" (not sure if goose or gander) hurts the chickens.......He's been kinda pecking at them from time to time.

Mr. Briggs will probably be at the top of the pecking order now and of he does last. A little pecking is ok. Gander means a male goose, and a female is just called a goose. I hope he does last, geese are fun to have around.

Thanks for all the helpful advice! Good to know a little pecking is okay. He just seems to have grumpy moments. I'm spending a lot of time talking to all of them and especially Mr. Briggs. I want him to be nice to as many people as possible. Which right now is just the 3 of us.......he'll probably not like strangers much. I've heard that about geese....By the way, I feel warmly welcomed! Thank you!

By the way, it's really funny....I sit here in the garage, next to the chickens, with my computer for hours on end. I can't play that video anywhere NEAR Sweet Pea because she comes RUNNING. I worked really hard to try to get her to know her name. I don't want to desensitize her to it. But I LOVE watching that video. The Pekin (they're all named Donald) took a dive for the mealworm like an action hero. It cracks me up.

Nice to have them one their names. I like the name Donald for a pekin..... BTW, if you have anymore questions on your Mr. Briggs, you should ask Pyxis. She raises Roman Tufteds, so knows a whole lot more about them than me lol.

I have two make Indian runners raised with a pair of Chinese geese. The gander was killed. Now one year old the ducks want to mate with the adult goose. I have 3 girl ducks and another pair of geese, 2 months old. The adult drakes are aggressively trying to mate with the young goose, but just chase the ducks.
Is there any hope my Drake's will figure it out?
