I finally got my first batch of chicks! It has been three days now, but I thought I would share some pictures of them the first day I brought them home and hopefully update this with new pictures so you can watch them grow! All three of them are Easter Egger pullets and I just love them! Everything has gone well for the first few days so hopefully they will all live long healthy lives!
here they are on their way home, I thought I would include this picture because when they are under the red heat lamp you can't really tell their true colors. From left to right this is Rose, Clover, and Ivy. Rose and Clover look very similar except Rose is bigger and has more of a tan base color where Clover is mostly true yellow with brown markings. Ivy is the odd one out with a yellow/white body and all black markings, not an ounce of brown anywhere on her. I can't wait to see what they look like when they grow up!
Here they are in the brooder, like I said it is harder to really see their colors under the heat lamp. Again from left to right this is Rose, Clover, and Ivy.
This is a close up of Ivy
... and Clover
... and last but certainly not least, Rose. (She likes to sleep in the feeder.)
Here are my girls! I just love them and I can't wait for them to get bigger so I can take them outside and see what color their feathers will be, but at the same time, I love them being so small and fluffy. I will be updating this hopefully once a week until they are fully grown!
