I bought 14 barred rock chicks from my local farm supply store last week. They were much too big(about 8-10" tall) to be in the small brooder that they were in so I'm hoping that is why they have huge bald spots on their backs and necks. Is there anything I can do to help them recover quickly? Should I be giving supplements? Feeding purina starter grower and probiotics and electrolytes in their water. Any advice welcome as I am very new to all of this. Thanks in advance.
Chickens have what are called feather tracts and featherless tracts. At around 8 weeks chicks molt out their feathers, and grow in more. The bald spots are just featherless tracts
