How did you incubate them? Any tricks or tips? Hand turn or auto? Mist? Cool for short periods? Oh and who did you get them from? Shipped or local?
I'm not experienced at incubating, and it seems like I've picked really hard ducks to start with...I think I'll try with chickies a few times before spring so I'll be ready
I have a GQF cabinet incubator. I keep it at 100 and about 80% humidity and it has an auto turner. I don't mess with them until it is time to stop turning them. Then I take them out and put in a LG still air incubator. I use the egg carton hatching method with the same temp and humidity. Works great for me. I got them from De, I got some birds from her and her calls had laid the day before so she graciously gave me some eggs.
The first batch of duck eggs that I hatched - were shipped and out of 8 - I only had 2 hatch out and one was very spraddled leg and didn't make it.
I have never cooled or misted my eggs, I know some people believe in that method, but I have never used it and don't seem to have a problem with the way I am doing it.
Lots of luck on your future hatching. It is addicting
