Do polish lay eggs?

my polish in my avitar is concerning me. it's 9 months old now and i can't tell if it's a roo or not. i don't think it's purebreed so no online pics match her/him. the comb is pretty big but flops over and that usually means its a hen?? the wattles look big though.........but not huge. so hens lay from 6-9months? good grief.....do i have yet another roo?!

She (he?) sounds like a mix. Polish have "V" shaped combs so it shouldn't flop or lay over...what you're describing sounds like a single comb.

Could you post some pictures?

I posted in separate post as suggested. took a couple of pics. i looked at the pics closely and have decided to go clean my coop! thank you! hopefully polish DO lay eggs!!

We have 2 Polish Crowns and at 5 months old they began laying one egg each day. When they were just over 6 months they started to actually want to lay on them. Once the eggs hatched they stopped laying (that was June). Our Silkie lays eggs also (a month younger) but she has a calcium deficiency and when she lays one they all eat it. But she will lay on the other eggs. Now our 3 younger hens (half Polish half Silkie which are just over 6 months old) are laying eggs each day and also wanting to lay on them for a couple of hours. However, none of the eggs are fertile since we had to give our roosters up. One Polish is laying eggs again, but the other one has not. The original 3 hens were wonderful moms. What is funny, they think I am the rooster and squat for me...lol!
