6 eggs

 

 

 

 

3 eggs from the control group :weee

 

 

 

 

 

3 eggs from the free range chickens :D

 

 

 

 

 

 

Temp 110F degrees and no breeze all day :somad

8 eggs, 7 of which came from 1 coop, 0 from the largest coop, where now another hen is acting like she wants to go broody; and 1 egg from the smallest coop.

 

@gander007  110 is pretty darn hot!  Stay as cool as you can.

I really do not go out when it is that hot for very long as I will wind up taking a nap shortly after word and I did not check the temp till around 4:30 PM but I did get a lot lf house work accomplished .

I thought all my hens 5 barred at 16 months old where going into

molt now getting my normal 4 to 5 a day again still seeing feathers but

have several young pullets might start in the next month now.

So far 3/13 but it is HOT and they are panting.  I have a silkie hen going broody in the other coop so I will probably let her do her thing.

The young ones might have been molting. They go through a sort of mini molt around 12-14 weeks. It's when rooster feathers come in but the girls molt a little too.

6 eggs so far today... gettting 2x more ggs now that I'm supplementing with scrambled eggs!

actually that part I am aware of as all mine before had been raised  hatchery pullets

Monday

 

 

 

7 eggs + 1 half size egg

 

 

 

 

2 eggs from the control group :lol:

 

 

 

 

 

5 eggs from the free range chickens + 1 half size egg :)

 

 

 

 

 

Temp today 116F degrees with a little breeze in the evening to cool it off to a cool 110F degrees :somad

 

 

 

 

 

No losses due to heat :celebrate But a lot of water was used to cool off the ground and animals :love
