We will have to keep our place here because nothing is selling here so we will be making trips back and forth if we do have to move. The sad part is I will have to downsize greatly for the move and I get so darn attached to all of them!

I hope you will be able to stay in GA.  Whatever is meant to happen, will happen, I guess.  I sure would like to help you downsize your splash chickens, if it came down to that, but  you are 4 hrs away.  highfive.gif             _Pam

My brother now has chicken fever.  He moved her from Chicago, and if fully embracing farm life too the fullest. He loves it.  I gave him my "Chickens for Dummies" book to read (love that book).  He's decided to get Leghorns (don't know what color, yet) because he wants  eggs.  I suggested he join this site.  I will be quite a while before he's able to get them, and get a coop built, etc.  I'm excited for him.  We both have homes on my Mom's property (like a compound :) )  Anyway. she HATES chickens- LOL. Hopefully, he will be here in the near future.  I told him that I don't know many people on here, yet, so maybe he won't be shy.   hugs.gif              -Pam Pittman

I am hoping for something to come up here because I do really like it here. Those splash girls are being crazy broodies right now. I swear silkie girls are insane!

Good luck! Hope you find something here!goodpost.gif Maybe you can try Chattanooga (unless you are closet to Atlanta)  But then again, I used to drive 45 minutes to work there, there's no way I could do it with gas $$!  Good luck, tho.

I hear ya.  How long to these surrogates get back to laying is what I want to know?  The last hen, the same age, has been broody since they hatched the chicks.  I kick her out of the coop everyday and lock it so she can't get back in and I still haven't broken her broodiness. barnie.gif  So, I have NO EGGS to eat!  BUT, I have some really cute chicks wee.gif

Pam that's great that your brother is here.  I know that will be fun for the two of you to do together.  I would be great if you two could get a little breeding thing going.  Having family close by is great and I know your heart must be singing right now lol.png
