This keeps the insides from sticking to one place in the shell. It's why birds roll the eggs when they sit on them, if you watch any of the Berry College Eagle cams, when they were sitting on the eggs, you'd see them several times a day reach under with their beaks and roll the eggs around @katiedarling
- either/or would be fine, I just want to mix up the brown eggs I'm getting, or more EE's would be ok with me too
Cool. I'm about to head back out to check for more eggs. Somebody was still in the nest box when I collected the ones earlier. I'll turn Stanley loose with the ladies for a couple of hours, then tomorrow I'll let James have a go. Is it true that they can stay fertilized for up to a week after or do I need to set him loose on them more rhan that? They're pretty beat up with their bald spots on their wings.
Poor girls. I can't wAit for the newbies we're getting to be old enough for full integration.I hope that takes the heat off of them a bit. Right now he's the annoying, needy boyfriend that demands constant attention. They're over it. Rose is at the point where she submits & doesn't even bother getting back up when he's done. Makes me sad.
