a friend has 3 hens, all lay brown eggs.

Chickens are like potato chips, you can't have just one.
Darn it...my bag is almost empty and the coop is almost full.

if the eggs are green they are not true ameraucana. The only time I have seen ameraucana lay green is when someone is developing a new color, which does not make them "true" ameraucana because the color is not accepted by the APA.

eta- sounds like an EE

Green eggs are easter eggers - mutts, not a pure breed.

Jersey giants lay brown eggs.

We're not telling you that the birds aren't good birds.  Just that they're not Jersey Giants.

All chickens are wonderful to be around (yes..even those that attack because we WILL remember them).  Just because yours aren't Jersey Giants doesn't make them any less special!

i know for sure my eggs came form a jersey giant i was just wondering if they could also lay green eggs as i was told that but i am 100% sure i got jersey giants i will show you if and when my eggs hatch

the whole not being pure thing was from the americaunas eggs being green rather then blue not about the eggs of the jersey giants
