I've learned recently that I have all silver drakes and  my girls are about 50/50 silver and gold. Also- it takes well over a year for the females to get their correct coloring. They are such an interesting breed to watch as they change from juvenile to adult feathering.
Out today enjoying the fall weather, chatting about the new goose.

So I have a question, I have one Welsh Harlequin that I got in late April (a little over 6 months), and three more that I got in late July (about 3 months).  I just started getting eggs yesterday but today there were two!!  Is it more likely that the older duck (who to this point we were not 100% certain was a duck because of her distinct colot pattern, laid both these eggs in one day, or is it more likely that the younger ones are starting to lay and the older one is a drake.

This is a picture of the older duckie, Ethel.

Ethel looks like a hen to me. I've had one of my WH hens lay two in one day, on more than one occasion. It's not supposed to be able to happen, and is probably not a good thing for the hen, but I know it is possible.
