BEST FEED FOR DUCKS?

after reading this post I realize that my koi are gonna have some serious issues this spring when the ducks are alowed in the pond. Maybe I will buy a couple hundred feeder fish and put them in in hopes that the big Koi get a fighting chance.

Try some chopped leaf or romaine (not iceburg) lettuce. And mine love diced watermelon.
 
Here is a list of things I have offered my ducks and their reactions...

Cabbage: Went nuts for it
Bok Choy: Same as cabbage
Celery tops and leaves: Ate some of it, but I dumped a lot of it too
Radish greens: Wouldn't touch them
Kale: LOVE it
Spinach: Also love this
Red Peppers: Ok, this one is funny. I had some end pieces so I chopped it up fine and floated it in the water like I do their greens. They saw me put stuff in their play pool and came running. Then they saw the color was different and came to a DEAD STOP. They stared at the pepper pieces for a good 20 minutes before Janet (my khaki girl) got brave and tasted the peppers. She liked it, so all the other ducks decided it must be good and helped her eat them all. Now they are used to them and go after the peppers almost as much as they gobble up the cabbage.
Cat Food: The like some of the dry food I have given them, but wont touch the canned.
Jicama Peels: Only Janet likes these.

yup i buy 50 small goldfish for $4.50 at the pet store and they love them. I also learned last spring that they will eat all the leafy greens that grew in my garden. this year i am blocking off my garden but planting some mixed greens for them near there duck house.
 
My geese will eat the occasional worm, but that is probably when they have a super craving for protein.

They won't touch slugs...as if the the ducks would even give them a chance. LOL

My pet goose will not even allow one (worm) near her/him now. Tried one and spent the next 1/2 hour wiping her mouth on the ground. My ducks will run you over for one.

LOL I forgot about watermelon. We eat alot of watermelon in the summer and the chickens absolutely love it. My duck will much on it but not as gluttonously. They also like bread. Only my snowy's will touch the bread. My Grey's won't go near it but will rip your arm off to get a worm..
