breeding frizzle

Applying the genes to a Punnett square it would appear that a frizzle crossed with a frizzle would result in 50% frizzle, 25% smooth, and 25% undesirable curlies.

Trying so hard to learn from this thread....

I have mostly silkiesabd only one Roo. Roo is a Partridge Silkie. I also have only one Bantam Frizzle Cochin- she is white. I was almost certain that the drizzle and the Roo had not gotten together....BUT.... I pulled some random eggs and stuck them into the incubator.

I am a little stunned to see one of the three 10 day old chicks looks like it is getting curly white wing feathers.
Plus the chick is has odd coloring-was a yellow newborn chick now has the white wing feathering coming in but kind of an Auburn coloring along with the white

Is this possible?

I have three chickens. The older one is a 6 month old female. She is part bantam and I was told part silkie; she looks like a regular chicken with feathered feet.

The two younger ones are three month old siblings. I don't know if the are hens or roosters. Their mother is a frizzle and the father is a bantam. All three chickens have the same father. Both of the young chickens have curly feathers. If one of the young chickens is a hen and the other is a rooster, can they mate? If I have a rooster, can he mate with the older chicken.

Thank you for all you help. I'm new to raising chickens.

I have used the Silkies exclusively after the first cross. I use Sizzle females and Silkie Roosters or a smooth Sizzle. You will get around 50 % Frizzled birds with a Smooth/Frizzle mating. If you use a smooth bird from such a mating your will increase your percentage of Frizzles.

You do need a bird with the frizzling expressed in your pair in order to get any offspring with frizzling.
