Pulled Pork
Homemade Sandwich Buns
Grilled Asparagus
Basmati rice cooked in the pork broth

The pork loin is gently bubbling away on the wood stove.

Large pot, pork loin, onion, garlic, salt, pepper and cover with water. Will cook for several hours today until it can be shredded with a fork.

Working on bread dough now.

First thing Judy asks me this morning, so what are we having tonight, I told her I'd be watching you all for ideas.

I've just made a pot of homemade minestrone-ish soup.   Any italians would probably shriek at my recipe but I like it:

Fry onions, bacon, garlic, carrots and courgettes in a pan. Add some italian herbs. Add a good squirt of tomato puree and top with hot stock.  Throw in some small pasta and simmer until pasta is cooked.   Serve with GG's bread (obviously!).

Have got my first attempt at cinnamon rolls in the oven now.  Will post the results on the other thread.  big_smile

Count the campfires by glowing flames, never by the ashes that fall. Count your days by the golden hours, don't remember clouds at all. Count the nights by stars, not by shadows. Count your life by smiles, not by tears. And with joy on every birthday, count your age by friends-not years.

I hardly have any veggies from last summer left at all. I would kill for summer corn and tomatoes right now!

A tomato straight off the vine would be heaven right now!!!

I'm a Farmer/Rancher  Wife,Mom & Grandma  No Farms, No food.
If you want house chickens and ducks in diapers then this is the forum for you.
I've got 50+ years of poultry experience, but this 'poultry' forum isn't for me anymore.
If you're going to complain about farmers, don't do it with a full belly or a mouthful.

No kidding!  I detest store bought tomatoes.  They are so tasteless.
