Awww......what a shame, that you came home empty handed that is.  Great that you got to meet some BYC friends.

I didn't get to go to the chicken show today but I DID get to chicken shop!  AND meet another BYC friend in person, also know as an "enabler".  lau.gif  I got to meet Lisa (Pokey) and see her beautiful birds and bring home some sweet chicks and hatching eggs.  I'm so excited!  I am a true addict, in every sense of the word.  Bought something that I didn't intend to, hadn't even considered it, but there they were and I couldn't help myself.  big_smile.png

I brought home 2 boxes but had already put the tiny babies in a brooder before I thought to take a picture.  Here are my Yokohama chicks:

Awwww...how sweet they look! Glad you got to meet Pokey...one of these days I will get to meet you both!!! Joy...do you still have polish? I have a pair and have been watching for an opportunity to get him another girlfriend! I only have WCB Polish but would love to get some opinions on the best way to diversify! These are so sweet and docile! I put my young hatches in with Polish and the Polish keep them so calm!!! I love the Polish!!! They are a little flighty when I go in but after all...they can't really see around that head hair!!! LOL If I go really slow and kneel down and call them by name they come right up to me and love me to stroke them!

I keep standard size white crested, black polish and I do love them.  They have a very sweet temperament.  They aren't laying well, just started back since last Fall.  So I am incubating eggs to check for fertility but I suspect it is still early.  They don't seem to like cold weather.  I'll hopefully be hatching chicks soon.  I would love to add some white crested blues to my flock but haven't found any yet.
