Sam, Sam, Sam.......the answer is very simple......more brooders, more lights, more chicks, more eggs.......just keep adding! LOL Have you seen the photo of my brooder room when I had 8 big brooders and chicks on the floor?

Cardboard boxes with a lamp have worked for me in the past.

Same as you, I have eggs in the hatcher now. They are the Porcelain Silkie eggs!! Yippee!!! I bought 12 and have 6 that have developed! I am so tickled to get these from Sandy. I could not find a girl among her youngsters so I am tickled to have eggs to hatch. My others from her are doing so well, too. I have plenty of beauties to add to my Sizzle pens now.

Remember, the smaller the chicken egg the sooner it pips.

I do have a lavender Muscovy hatched out and another on it's it's way out. I love duckies!

Bantam Cochins are my love! Mille Fleur projects, buff barred projects and black/blue Mottled. Chickens, Guineas, Ducks, Peafowl and Meal Worms. Contact me for hatching eggs and a link to my website.

Mini WhiteChocolate Cupcakes....a lady at work made these for my bday at work.

OK i sux at the whole is it a Roo/Pullet Game...But I really think this is a Roo

it's 4 weeks today and the comb is larger than anybodies and it's a hint of pink.

IMG_0671.JPG

Now this one I am praying it to be a pullet, but I fear that all that will not keep this one a girl...but maybe fl.gif

it's feathers are the coolest color and even if a roo I'm pretty sure this chick is gonna be a beautiful chicken.

Oh I had to hold cause it's VERY busy and will not be still. I'll try later on for a better pic.

More pics later!!! Love the babies!

I know...I know...I am just without a light...have a bin...too far to run to town.I had a plan to finish reworking the growout pen so I can move the smaller age cochins in there. They are 10ish weeks old and have been in the outside brood pen but with out the light on...it is a room with a small door and a light mounted on top with a attached roofed run...its like 2.5 feet by 4 feet and less than 2 feet tall.I have a 4x8x2 grow out that floods because it is only half roofed and no sides enclosed...I am going to copy the brooder but no light and only a 3 sided room in the end to put those cochins in so I can move my 2 week olds out to other...figure I had sat to do it in but NOOOOOO...lil boogers just got to hatch early on me...it is day 18!!!

I have got to get more brooders ready because I have 51 eggs on the counter to set sat with tomorrows collection and eggs being shipped in for tomorrow pickup!! LOL I am hatching like crazy to have alot to offer in april!!

I haven't been around for a while. My hubby had emergency quadruple bypass. We never had a clue he even had a problem.

Missed like 1600 posts. I don't talk much, but I lurk a lot.

During all of this I has some silkies hatch. Does anyone know what color this chick is?
