The NPIP class is a great learning experience.  Even if you are not interested in getting NPIP certified, it is worth the time and money for all that you will learn.

Long time since I posted.  Yes we took this class and all I can say is it is worth taking the class.  You will learn so much about chicken rearing, diseases, and biosecurity, including a necropsey of a chicken.  The class is limited, so if you are able to attend, sign up now.  You will not be disappointed.

I have a live trap and I bait with either sardines or canned tuna. one trap was too small and it would steal the bait and I could not figue out why till I caught it in the bigger trap and it was barely big enough.

Well catching the critters is not that bad. But I would not want the job of teaching the critters to read so they can obey the " No Varmints " signs to be posted. :-)

And shouldn't a food place have some kind of rules about waste disposal that include not drawing vermin/nuisance creatures?

Not sure if anyone has answered this as this was as far as I read so far today.

Back in April there were quite a few on here that took the NPIP class at Clemson. Nikkie (CarolinaChickenKeeper), Kris and Robert (KrisH), Kimberly (Chickychickybaby) and some others I can't think of right now.

They really enjoyed it, learned a lot and are helping ones like Samantha (dixiebeast) and I understand more about it. We also are glad to have them around to help with getting us ready for the shows this fall since birds have to be tested to be shown.

Kimberly showed me the huge book that came with the class and all the extra things they handed out. as I understand it, it is well worth the money to take the class.

Now I just wish we could get one of those candling classes here in SC so I can see how much I don't know!
