This may be a silly question, but where can I buy Ivermectin? I really like the idea of dosing each chicken individually. Also, another stupid question. Where can I find Sevin Dust? I have been using another dust I found at Coastal, but I think rotating between dusts will help keep mites in check.

Ivermectin can be found at Feed Stores. (probably Tractor supply too) It's a cattle dewormer.Sevin dust can be found in any garden center.

I thought I would include this link regarding ivermectin being toxic to dogs. It is used in heartworm medications for dogs and for other issues. I doubt the amount a dog would ingest in an egg would do any harm. But here is some information.

post #2615 of 332610/21/12 at 9:01amWell...after all the fussing I did about the double lacing on the chest of the Barnvelder rooster, I am beginning to see the lacing on my young rooster. It is not the same as the hens. It is very dark, and only seen when the sun hits it just right and the dark turns irridescent green. Than the lacing shows. I hope the judges will take that into account? hmmmm
Aya
PS.. cant really send a picture because it doesn't show up with out the sunlight just right and the darned rooster keeps moving!

Well everyone my eggs hatched On the 18th that I got from Maine, they were Supposed to be Barnevelder's and there was an egg mix up from the breeder and I ended up with 2 Barnevelder's and 4 French black copper Maran's, Which one of the Marans didn't make it at the end of the hatch:( She will be sending me more Barnevelder's eggs when they start laying again..but they are all beautiful checks.. I will take pictures and post soon. I'm happy to have at least two!!!

post #2620 of 332610/22/12 at 10:29amI want to try and breed bantam blue double laced barnevelders. I was thinking of repeating some of the techniques used in large fowl and replicating it in the bantam size. I am intrested in ideas or suggestions. I am also looking for nice bantam hatching eggs to get me started.
