She might be starting her molt, she just looks so pale to me. If she is molting, she should get darker Chocolate... She has some darker spots on her but they are randomly placed, and of course her barring is darker.

Here's a picture of my older Solid Blue hen, can you see what I mean by "Chalky" compared to this Kablooey?  The new girl just isn't rich & shiny-looking i guess.

Thanks! I love your girl. I wanted some white girls but I was only allowed to get two, and these two caught my eye the second I pulled up. Maybe next time. wink Your babies are sooo cute. I want one of my girls to go completely broody so I can stick eggs under her. I am planning on buying some fertile eggs. Lol! Shhh....my parents dont know. Hehe! She is setting on some eggs now, but they arent fertile. I keep leaving her eggs in there so she goes broody. But she isnt completely broody yet. She sits on them till about noon then comes out for most of the day then goes right back at night. Maybe she doesnt have enough eggs yet to want to set. I did have a problem with my young rouen girl wanting to chase her off, but she has stopped that. IDK! I really want some babies. And if they arent related I can keep a drake and have a drake for my girls, and maybe some more hens. Planning on trying to find two different breeders to get eggs from. If you know of anyone let me know. Thanks!

Ducklings are soo much fun! love
Since its winter here I was trying to stop her from sitting but then she went and made another nest sooo I gave in and prepared for ducklings hah!
I know people on this site sell eggs or have eggs they're willing to ship/send like katarinad (i think she still does) its the best way to try get your prefered breed or maybe borrow a drake off someone for a little while?

I'm going to be trying to get runner duck eggs again, except I think I have to wait for september when its spring again

Haha scovies are soo stubborn when it comes to their nests, I cant keep charlotte off one roll

LOL! I want lots of babies duckling running around. I cant wait till next year when my mandarins reach breeding age. They are so beautiful! But out of the bigger non ornamental ducks I love muscovies the most. I am going to put a ad up in the wanted ads but thought i would ask here as well.

Madar86,

Black ducklings will sometimes have brown colored heads. They will be black when they grow their feathers in though.

Just found this thread. I never wanted Muskovies. I don't know why, I just didn't. Then a friend asked if I wanted hers. The drake, Penguin has very severe angel wing, but he's the king of the ducks! He came along with his two ladies, Muskovy hen Penny and a runner, Sally. The only one he really pays attention to is Penny.

Penguin knows he's the king!

I think Penny thinks the calls are babies. She's always playing mama to them. They are always the last ones to go in at night and she won't go in til they do!

This kinda shows his severe angel wing. It's worse on his left side.

I LOVE Penny's eyes!!
