The male was born on 7/11, the female a few days earlier, so 9 months old. A bit off tpic but do you per chance know when they start laying? I put some chicken eggs in the incubator a little over a week ago and am worried I may have a duck egg or 2 in there with the chicken eggs.

Mine were born around then and started laying about 1.5 months ago.   But I live in Florida and we had no winter.

Now I have these from my girl.  She's being a good first time mom.  I took away the first 2 weeks of eggs that were laid.  She hatched 11 out of 14.

i agree its not silver, but i'm not sure its just lavendar, seems to be dark on the wings. if your breeding it to the black pied drake the offspring will give you some answers colourwise. interesting duck though, that my problem now, too mahy interesting ducks and way too many ducklings to grow out!
