I was just doing some research on Muscovy coloring and it looks like when they become mature (molting I assume) they become nearly solid in color with limited barring on their back, belly, and legs.

Mother of 1 boy, 4 cats, 4 dogs, 2 turtles, 10+ Zebra/Pink Convicts, 2 Comet Goldfish 'Jaws and Moby Dick', 30 chickens (4 Red Stars, 5 Eggers, 1 Egger Roo , 3 Cochins, 3 Wyandottes, 2 Batnty's, 2 Sexlinks, 2 Rhodies,1 Plymouth Rock, 5 Mixed breeds, 1 Austrolop, and 1 Japanese Banty Roo), 3 Scovies, and 3 bunnies (Bunny, Clyde, Athena) ..... It is never a dull day in our zoo :)

mine never look like they do when they are ducklings, they'll have varying amounts on the belly, back and wings and change with each moult.

 So pretty!

Now,I am looking at the top picture & I'm wondering why is it the baby has her red face already but Daisy just turned 9 months & her face isn't red? Am I feeding her the wrong food or something?

Maybe it has something to do with getting some sun? idunno.gif I'm just guessing lol since she's a house duck and the other is an outdoor duck??
