Here is a updated picture of my beautiful little babies (that are currently my house ducks)! This is a pic of their first bath! I fill up the bath and give them a swim each day when I clean out their brooder. Super cute (messy) things they are!

I can't imagine putting them up in the pen with the other ducks! Their mum has moved down to the chicken coop which is just outside my house backyard (I'm on a farm). I imagine these guys will end up living in the front house yard when they grow older!

Quick question? My girls just recently shared a nest and hatched 11 babies. They are 4 days old. One of the mamas is chasing the other mama now biting and pulling her feathers out. Ugh!  I have them separated right now and the ducklings are staying with the mama who is getting picked on. (the more protective one). The bully mama was stepping on the babies trying to get the nice mama. Any suggestions?? Should I put my bully mama up with the boys? This is the first clutch the girls have had.

It's getting dark and I'd like to know if I should move her while it's still light out. Very time I try to put her back in with the other mama, it starts up again. I don't know if she's trying to get her to take the ducklings back in the nesting box or just wants her to go away. I'm afraid the babies are going to get hurt.

Thanks,
Amy

i would leave the babies with the more protective mama... and just let the other one try again later... or u could split the babies up and give some to each one...

Ahhh...growing up Muscovy. We are enjoying this family so much. In hopes they stick around this fall and winter, we are providing duck houses. Now that this set of babies are so big...I am hoping Duchess picks a house and starts her next family. I love these ducks and the tail wagging. They have so much personality and are pretty to look at. GO MUSCOVY!

They are beautiful, just remember they need a safe shelter where they can be protected from preds. And as long as theres food and shelter they most likely will stay.

Question:  do your muscovies flock up with your other duck breeds?

It seems like my new muscovy pair are not interested in my other ducks.  While my ducks spend the day going back and forth from feeding area to pond (which is a bit of a distance), the muscovies have decided to spend the whole day by pond.  They get along fine with the ducks and sometimes swim together when they are at pond, but the muscovies do not follow the ducks when the ducks leave pond area.

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).
