That was one of the best uses of free stuff I've ever seen... I'm sure you'll come up with something new to build with!

I have been yearning for some olive eggers for some time now, but I am constrained by my coop size. The girls free range during the day, but sleeping space is limited. I am thinking I have room for a banty....has anyone done that yet? I did a google search that didn't come up with much.

Just starting my OE "project." I have a Cream Legbar rooster that I'm crossing with a wheaten Penedescenca hen and a BC Marans hen. The first two F1 chicks from this cross have hatched, both out of eggs from the Penedescenca. Cream Legbars are an autosexing breed and it looks from their down color that these F1s might be, too. Time will tell, but if so then these are a boy and a girl. I have more eggs that went under a surrogate broody last week. I plan to cross some off the daughters back to their sire to see what eggshell shades might emerge, and others I'll cross with a BC Marans roo to get some dark olive egg layers.   -- Ig

Hey guys help me out... I have an auction up and it includes 22 Olive Eggers..... Some will be second generation covered by a Blue Copper Marans Roo and the others will be from EE covered by another Blue Copper Marans roo.  The babies I just hatched came from the first blue copper marans and most all had beards and muffs and feathered legs...  Some will be from an Ameraucana pullet that lays a near olive egg and she is covered by my Lavender Am roo.

PLEASE TAKE A LOOK... I can't hatch for a few weeks till after graduation. hit.gif MAKE ME AN OFFER!

They would not sit still... LOL.  Out of 8 eggs I got 7 chicks. celebrate.gif  All have puffy cheeks from mama.  Some have feathered legs some don't.   The mamas are lightly feathered and so are the dads.  I think I will keep the ones with puffy cheeks and feathered legs.   I really like the brown ones... don't know why, just cute.  One has feathered legs and the other does not.
