Here is our OE "Ebony" and her first olive egg.  I originally wanted/purchased an Ameraucana hen for the bluish eggs but alas this is what we got...

really pretty. i too want some blue eggers, but i think you will like having ebony's color too for variety.

Ebony looks very much like the OEs I have, and her egg color is just gorgeous! Congratulations!

OOOO la la --lovely egg!! OE are harder to find than blue eggers! You are lucky to get her!

Wife of "The Sweet', - Mom of 5 (children) and a growing number of chickens (around 30'ish) - 2 horses, 2 goats, 2 pigs, 2 dogs, 2 cats on 10 acres of Florida yumminess!!

I think I'm addicted to buying hatching eggs - aaaaaahhh, somebody help me!! 

(on 2nd thoughts, DON'T, coz then I'll have to stop hatching)

Thank you God for people who love chickens too!!!!

WOW! My Olive Egger just started laying last week and has only produced 3 eggs so far. First was 44 grams (typical for a pullet), second was 49 grams (getting bigger), but her third egg was HUGE. 63 grams. Some of my other pullets have been laying for a month and their largest was 52 grams.

 

I'm impressed.

Thanks! She is an F2 olive egger from 'ruth'. I believe they were BCM and Ameraucanas mixes.
