Diatomaceous Earth (Where do you buy it in GA?)

Thanks for the link, but I never trust a source selling a product;)

There is a lot of research that shows that DE is useless as an anti-helminth. Here is some research in sheep that showed that sheep treated with DE did no better than the un-treated control group. http://www.leopold.iastate.edu/research/grants/1997/1995-34_Alternative_Parasite_Control_for_Sheep_%5B_Organic_%5D.pdf

There
is also some research about its limited effectiveness in controlling other insects in stored feed. I was unable to find any research in either direction on the control of mites or fleas.

Pool DE is chemically treated which is why it is not used on/in livestock.

If you are using it in a manner where it can get back into the air like in bedding that will be scratched up I think the risk far outweighs the benifit if there is any. All suppliers have a wear dust mask warning in their bags for a reason....to keep them from getting sued when somebody doesn't wear one and gets Siliconosis or lung cancer from it.

I am not criticizing anybody here...just trying to promote safety.

thanks for your replies. I was hoping not to order it online so I don't have to pay shipping. But it looks like I am going to have to go that route. Thanks again.
