How to tell baby chick breeds apart?

I'm having the same issue. Got 8 new chicks from someone's order of 25 mixed and can't tell what they are. Well, one really. The silkies are easy since they have 5 toes, and Sebrights have feathered out their wingtips already (they're 3 days old), but it's really hard to tell. I guess I have to revel in the mystery of it until more time has passed!

It took me about 3 weeks to id mine. The Chipmunk-striped chicks became Welsummers and a Speckled Sussex, which then developed a white belly. The little campine was mottled brown/black all over.
I have an Ameracauna (EE) cockerel that looks like a raptor: curved beak, thick gray-green legs, black/white mottled otherwise......He's striking. However, the only way I can tell that he is an EE is because of his ear tufts and pea comb.
Meyer hatchery got everything 100% right though.

It's fun to watch them grow and develop unique personalities!

I hope that you have some (Buff) Orpingtons: they are the sweetest of the 10 breeds that I have, from my limited experience (2 years).
