This may have been covered but what about a friends list on profiles?

That would work also, i was just trying to make it a little easier to keep in touch with others that you have really hit it off with. im not saying i havn't enjoyed everybody on here, just that i have hit it off with certain ones and would like to be able to catagorize them into a friends list per say, to help keep in touch better

Sorry, I wasn't saying you suggested a clone of those services, but that the totality of all the "friend / social networking" requests do end up like that.

Again, we've added the requests to the list, but we're prioritizing new features based on cost and complexity balanced with benefit to the community. We'll keep you posted.

Thanks for all feedback and suggestions. We may not implement everything, but we appreciate the posts.

I agree, we deffinatly do not want backyardchickens turning into a myspace, facebook, etc. i dont want to sound all mean and negative but if it does end up start looking like one of those websites we then could start getting people who have no interest in chickens. and i am not saying those who do not have an interest are wrong but that is why they made this website for chicken lovers.
a friendlist wouldnt be bad but i agree with Katy as well. i look people up if i need to speek to them. But i do see how it could be helpfull.
