My Pet Chicken

My babies are now two months old... they are so great. I didn't get a huge mix in my mixed bag order, but I got four individual breeds, an extra Delaware hen and five sex links :/ so, when I was supposed to have five Del, I have six. I believe the others are barred rocks, partridge rocks, australorp, Rhode island red? But they are thriving!! And my Dell rooster is very handsome.

Oh I love Delawares! They are one of the friendliest and beat laying breeds in my opinion. They don't get enough credit for how awesome they are.
 
I thought I would post an update on my cross/scissor beaked Roo aptly named Little Big Man. He passed away yesterday after finding him
lying on his side with his eyes closed. I brought him inside and warmed him up and gave him water with electrolytes through a syringe most of the day but he succumbed in the afternoon.

It is amazing how one of God's little creatures can find their way into our hearts so quickly. I will miss his antics whenever I go into the
pen to feed or just check on him.

To the people at MPC, thanks for all your help and communication during this time.
