This thread is perfect for me today!!! It took nearly an hour today to go 10 miles going back into Maine from NH!!! TOURISTS!!!!!! In my DH's non-air conditioned car with a disgruntled 2 year old in the back seat! And of course if people would pick a lane and stay in it, then traffic would go much smoother. But do they? NO!! They keep switching lanes which makes other people to have to slow down and next thing you know traffic is at a stand still, again!
Okay, I know some of you city folk think that is nothing but I'm not city folk! 10 miles takes 15 minutes, unless you are me then it takes 10 minutes to go 10 miles
. JK
And another thing...I learned to drive on back roads and usually am driving a twisty back road. I know how to take a corner unlike some of these tourist, one state in particular ( I won't name states, but you know who you are!!) who are used to driving on straight highways. They drive outrageously fast into the corner and then have to stomp on the brakes halfway through because otherwise their giant SUV would roll over. Now I drive an SUV so it's not that you have to be a genius to drive one, the trick is slow down before you get to the corner and accelerate halfway through. That's the way they teach you in drivers ed and that's how race cars are driven!!! Why can't people learn??? GRRR! GRRR! GRR!
Don't get me wrong, I know tourists help drive the Maine economy, but why can't they take the bus or Amtrak or even a plane. Heck you can even take a cruise ship! But no they have to take their car so they can drive incredibly slow looking at fall leaves and pine trees and my goodness forget about a moose! Oh look their's a farm stand, quick slam on the brakes and nearly cause an accident so you can get some beans!
Okay I feel better. Wow! I love this thread!
