on that sad note of how much is feed, I need to go buy some more. I have a coupon starts today at tsc, 10% off my purchase plus and extra 5% off dog food, guess I'm getting dog food too.

seems I am there every week unless I buy 3 bags then I can skip a week.

still looking for anyone wanting a free smooth sizzle roo birchin colored. if not, soon I have to make a decision- he's not staying and I can't keep feeding the free loaders.

So would I! But for $16 dollars...I'd drag that thing by myself to the coop if I had to! lol!

5 ducks; 2 Khaki's, 1 Rouen, 1 Magpie, 1 White and Fawn. 6 in my incubator DTH: 3-13-12. 12 eggs currently under my broody Momma DTH (approx): 3-17-12.

I'd just drop it on the ground, cut it open and let the girls get it to a manageable weight.

I think we're going through 100 pounds ($32) every 2 weeks. We have 27 hens and a rooster.

That will be changing soon, as I plan to hatch for Easter and again this summer!

I decided to put a chicken saddle on a hen for the first time today, as her back was getting bald. We put it on in the late afternoon, since we can't really reach the area where she roosts very well (especially in the dark). Everyone was afraid of her with her new outfit! Even the rooster was jumping in the air like she was carrying a raccoon on her back!

It was quite comical. Hopefully, everyone will settle down tomorrow.

wow, I am going through a bag every two days....I need to start selling hatching eggs just for them to pay for their own feed. I have too many "extra" roos but can't get rid of them because I won't be able to get replacements easily. I do have a few more extra roos to cull, they are just freeloaders that are terrorizing my girls.

Krista- mom to 7 with an amazingly understanding husband   . chocolate runners, b/b/s orps, jubilee orps, bantam chocolate orps, project lf choc orps, blue breda fowl and a some cool exotic hens for eating eggs
