i was needing to get gas last night, my local station is $3.99/gal for regular- shiver. that means every time I drive to waterville, that's $6.00 just in gas to go and get home, never  mind all the stops I have to make while there! luckily I found gas cheaper in winslow and filled up there before coming home but that still was $3.84.

I have some bantam choc orps and I am amazed at the amount of fluff these guys have already. I have 2 pullets that are blue and black that are 100% english and I don't remember them being as fluffy. I will try to get pics soon, I just LOVE chocolate and hope the boy will get big enough to breed my Smith black ameraucana hens fl.gif

don't be jealous, i bought these eggs on byc and hatched them. this way i can keep bacvk what I want and sell the rest. I have to see what hatches of the marans, not many of those dide well on the trip here so i still need to choose what I 'm keeping but I know I will have some blr, I'm starting to narrow down my choices on them.

hoppy, I think those blue laced red nn's have rose combs... IF I wanted to breed back the single comb for nn's, do you know if the rose comb is hard to breed out?

rosecombis a dominate gene. being that they are a cross, they have only one gene so it's easy to get the single comb. you can even breed 2 rosecombs together and get straight combs.  just select for those.

if you are not showing, i like rosecombs- less frost bite in the winter.
