Maine - Page 343

thanks for the replies- we put the injured girl back out tonight and supervised for a long while, there does not seem to be so much aggression- the white rocks are not seeking anyone out, they just peck at the girls they don't like when they get near them- they don't even chase. I wonder though if the injured girl could have done it herself?? I noticed blood on her beak when I noticed her injury, and I saw her reach back and peck at it at one point...is this possible???

well i have done it again. yup i bought more chicks. i was driving my dump truck today hauling to farmingdale and went by campbells agway and saw there sign saying we have chicks. so i just had to stop and see what they had . they have barred rocks comets and rhode island reds all 2.29 each. i got 12,  6, barred rocks and 6, rhode island reds. i paid for them and then picked them up on my last run of the day. the chickies had a nice hour ride back to my work and then home. all lively and chirping away in the brooder now. yes i am a chicken addict lol.

we free-ranged for the first time today- it was hilarious to watch everyone. The mean-ness seems to be going away, and we are almost done with their run!  here is a picture:everyone just had some meal worms!

Just ordered a bunch of rare breed chicks but don't think I'm going to keep them ALL if there's any interest :) I have salmon faverolles, mottled javas and light brahmas

you probably should bring your extras to an upcoming swap!!

If you love your chicken, thank a breeder. NPIP tested
