Anything to stop a dog from killing chickens??

Why do some people have to be so rude and arrogant about topics like this? I'll never understand that.

NO, not all dogs can be trained to coexist with chickens. NO it is not always the owners fault.

Sorry for chiming in to this thread so late, but I just had to share this.

Training your dog really is the only long-term solution, people.

I love my dog so much but it constantly did the things that irked me most. It would chew on things that it shouldn’t or jump up and down out of the blue.

Whenever I put on the leash, it would pull on it. Whenever it was out of the house, it would continue digging on the ground - I wish I could tell what it was looking for down there. The same goes for all the nasty urine.

All the things it did left me feeling depressed as if I failed it monumentally.

But since I discovered Brain Training 4 Dogs and applied the system offered, it now behaves the way a beautiful dog I always expect of. I highly recommend it.

Here's a link to their site. Good luck! :)

Let him sniff them through the fence any signs of lunging or aggression hit him with something and say bad dog each time he does it till he almost wants to look away from the chickens. the harder you hit him the better it works, my dad taught are half husky mutt that with one hit with the clasp on a leash, our dog is smart though and learns fast. We can walk our dog through the chicken pen without him on a leash and he won't do anything even if your not with him.

Edit: our dog is very smart and learns fast. He does not always listen and is not super well trained either, he is just a smart dog that knows if he kills chickens or shows an interest that there will be pain/consequences associated.
