great gobs of chicken poo Batman

Ok, so I have had five meat birds for less than 24 hours.
Those dang things have pooped more than the 27 birds I got last summer.

I know their job is eat and grow...I was surprised at the volume of by-product their little bums are capable of!

What's redneck elsewhere is "green" in Oregon.

1 husband, 2 sons, 2 cats, 3 goats, 59 chicks, 22? assorted hens, 1 stupid rooster, a rooster in waiting, 3 Khaki Campbell ducks, no partridge, and no pear tree.  This is what happens when you deny your children pet birds.

Cornish cross have two functions - eat and poop.big_smile I think it is because they usually last only eight weeks or so and it is their way of getting the most in for the short time they have.

Does my rememberer need fixing, or do they stink worse than layers?  Is it the medicated feed?

They're such cuties, but DANG.  My laundry room stinks of Eau de Poulet.

I have more to look forward to?

Lovely.  Peachy.

They'd better taste REALLY good.

That thought will haunt me for the rest the day.  How old are they??  I keep my brooder in my barn and by week 3, I can hardly stand it.

My brooder for my regular chicks is on the back patio and after two weeks I'm getting ready to put it in a corner of the coop.

I have 15 on order now and am waiting for the manure to over load my waiting compost bins.  I have a friend who actually uses a dog kennel next to their wood burner in their living room for the first week.  Not me, garage until they get feathers and then out they go!!!!
