Looks like you are building a HOUSE , wink.png  very nice construction , . I hear ya on the insulation , we will be doing that also.

DH wants the stiff stuff , I don't care what it is as long as they don't freeze in the winter. Might take til the snow flies to build that sucker to.

I know what I want , but keep changing up little things like where the nest boxes are going and how many vents and a feeder

attached to the outside wall now ,,etc ..I must stop that . Might do sand on the coop floor now instead of wood chips ..the more I read

the more changes I make ! Happy Building frow.gif

Ya, you're in Ont. so you know how the winters can get. The Yukon has been getting warmer I've heard. I think its due to global warming. I've been up here only 3 years and I haven't seen any minus 45 or 50 like it apparently normally got in the old days. I lived most of my life in the interior of BC in the semi desert area but I was born in Sudbury Ont. I remember as a kid in Elliot lake people had to search and dig out their cars in winter and the snow was waist deep. We don't get that deep snow up here in the Yukon but winters sure are long. I'm not going to have much of a garden this year. I guess most people have greenhouses up here.

Opps....I didn't realize this was the check in I thought this was another thread.

My bad! lol...

My name is Graziella, I live in Ontario. I've lived on my farm all my life...I used to have bantam chickens from when i was about 12 or 13 years old and I had many pets that have gone since then. I think my last bantam that I had was a black bantam. I could't tell you the name of them, but from browsing the site I believe they were old english game bantams.

Now I'm 29, wanting to get back to having some chickens again. I want to get Pyncheon's if i can find a breeder in ontario that has them.

:) Love all those coops designs on the coop page. Very cool!

I hope you find a breeder for the chicks your are seeking!  Good luck!

1 Blue JG and 1 Black JG, 1 black Americauna, 1 penciled Americauna, 1 Penciled Rock.  1 Cornish chick, 5 Sussex, 8 mix chicks, and one wild kitty!

10 meaties on the way, 2 red layers and 10 in the incubator.  Chicken Math strikes again!

Thanks!!! it is a work in progress. I went to the local animal feed store and talk to the owner (he knows my parents and grand parents) but anyhow there was a police office that was in and he raises and exotic breed of bantams for the feathers (which he uses as fishing lures. Not sure that whole process) anyhow he may have sea brights or pyncheon's hoping for either or...:)

so this my yield in some results.

Charli, from Central Manitoba (near Winnipeg). Had chickens only since beginning of May 2012. I have Red Jungle Fowl, Seabrights, Frizzles, Silkies, D'Uccles, Japanese Bantams, and I think I have a Cornish bantam as well for a total flock size of 13 at the moment. Also helping to raise my mothers Cornish Giants. On top of my chickens I have five goats, and would like to include rabbits into my livestock hobbies. Also have horses and grass-fed Galloway cattle. Any other Manitobans out there?
