Canadians check in here.... - Page 6

That must suck having to work the night shift on the long weekend.tongue
Hope you get more land soon!! I know what you mean about wanting to have a farm farm!! We have 72 acres, rent most of land to a farmer who has cattle and grows hay.  We decided to use some of "our" land and got some horses. Now we have the chickens, although most of them are going to be "meat" in September. My hubby wants to get some calves to raise, and I'd love to have some goats and the kids want a pig and other cute farm pets.wee  I also want a donkey, and another horse. (even though I don't ride, someday maybe!!)
We've got all this land it would be nice to have it all to ourselves!!!!
I was looking up some of the "Osbourne" surnames in the Clark area, back in the 1901 or 1911 census, can't remember, but there was a Cornel Osbourne, but I'm not sure exactly where abouts in Clark he lived. I need to go onto the Ancestory.com site to find more info, so if you have the lot number and concession number, where you are, I may be able to find a link.
Also on the Ancestory.com site, there is a free place where you can post questions for anyone you are looking for from the past, lots of people have links.( there is a Durham area on it!)  So was your house know as the Wooden Carousel a well know place( I've never heard of it before, LOL )Do you know any other names of people that lived in your house??
If you want, you can email me @ boyd.trish@gmail.com, if it's easier for you!!

Hope your long weekend of working is almost over!!

Trish

Hey everyone!!

I am in Trout Brook, New Brunswick. I would love to meet anyone else in Canada breeding Phoenix, especially the black variety. My avatar is a pic of my rooster Frankie. Does anyone know of a good place to get heritage chicks or eggs in Canada other than Rochester?

Buff Orpingtons, Bantam Phoenix (silver, black, red), RIR, Marans, 2 bunnies Beatrix and Cootie, 2 new cats Clawdia and Fiona, Penny the geriatric chihuahua, Lucy the shih tzu. Baron a 4 month old GSD monster puppy,  Snoopy the Kelpie, and Mr. Fantastic, my adorable husband!

My brother thinks he's a chicken - we don't talk him out of it because we need the eggs.

lol

I actually asked my daughter if she's seen her friend (our ghost) lately and she said "no he had to go out with his dad to the barn"

not quite sure what that meant but I just said "oh"

I try not to pry too much cuz I would hate it if she stopped telling me about him.

I caught her talking to him the other day.
She had her hand cupped over her ear and she was saying "I can't hear you TALK LOUDER"....
She never did find out what he was saying because she said she couldn't hear him, he was whispering.....
ep

I'll take some photos of where she sees him in my house and I'll put them on here this afternoon.

MamaBoyd on this  forum gave me some info about my house and its  original family back in 1872 and  I learned the farmer and his wife had 7 children, 5 girls and 2 boys - birthdates ranged from 1840 to 1873 for all.
Maybe some of them are still here?  Now that I know all of their names I'm going to ask my daughter if she speaks to any of them!

Just on nightshift right now & go home to sleep at sunup.......

I had a bit of a scare not too long ago.
I was diggin up the garden and found bones.
Vertabrae (sp?)
I brought them into work here at the Police Stn and took them down to forensics.
They were so old and weird looking they had to be sent away

I tend to be my own worst enemy when it comes to being freaked out by spooky things so I almost had myself convinced the bones were my ghosts (cuz that would explain everything)
But I waited for the results and they came back as inconclusive but not human.......

didn't make me feel any better really.  hmm

Cheers
stay tuned for photos......
