OH THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS THREAD! I read all of this, as one of our little darlings is starting to peck, and I bought the pinless peepers from egg cartons.com as suggested.
I also watched a great You Tube piece with such kind men actually putting the pinless peepers on, and then showing you how their chickens reacted and checking to see if they could free range okay. And they showed the results later in taking them off - sweet video:
But I've done some further reading and it seems that TOYS should be the first plan of attack, and may be the real answers instead of pinless peepers. Oh my lucky stars, this article is not only so creative and exciting, but read the responses as well because people are endlessly inventive!!!
