building trapnest fronts? (for telling which hen laid which egg)

I tried this before and got some links to useful 'reference material' but as spring approaches and more people join the site I will try again to see if anyone has actual personal experience...

Anyone ever build your own trapnest setup? (It's a door to the nestbox that latches shut once a hen enters, you check it every 20 or 30 minutes so you can release whomever's in there but that way you can tell who's laid which egg)

I have thought of doing this on several occasions.. I think if I could get a simple design where I could retrofit my galvanized nest holes I would do it now.. I want to select 10 hens to put with my isolated rooster..

The sample on the Marans page doesn't appear to be a "trap-nest".
Or maybe I just don't understand the Schematic...........

could you block off the front of your nest box's and use a live trap. but wont the hen freak out being trapped? I wouldn't want to see her hurt her self.

THANKS for the last posting (Traditional Trap-Nest). It gave me an idea for using a similar "trigger-stick" through the side of my current nest boxes with a "notched sliding stick" on the outside to release the door. It should work just as well (no string) and the hens wouldn't be able to trip it from outside (no room for a chicken on that side).
