How long does one treat with Sulmet for Coccidiosis?  It convienently doesn't say on the bottle.  Does 6 days sound right?

There's a 10 day withdrawal period from the last doage, so no eggs for 16 days in all.

Dosage is 1 T/gallon.

Bumping this up because I'm having to treat some chicks with Sulmet. I have been told 1 tsp per gallon, but the bottle says 2 TB per gallon. Would like to know what's correct and for how long. Thanks!

13 horses, 9 dogs, 1 cat, 1 ball python, 1 bunny, 7SLW, 3 Seramas and oh yeah, me DH and DD!

Sulmet dosage is 2 tablespoons per gallon of water for 2 days. Then reduce to 1 tablespoon per gallon of water for the next 4 days.

Excessive dosage may cause toxic reactions.

If you are treating for cocci, you'd be better off using corid. Sulmet only treats 2 types of cocci. Corid treats all 9 types and it's easier on the chicks system. Dosage for the 9.6% liquid corid is 9.5cc's per gallon of water for 5 days. It can be found in the cattle section at the feed store.
