How much light & heat do 6 week old chicks need?

I also have to ask a question about lighting. My chicks are about to go out to the coop tomorrow they are 6 weeks old and fully feathered and are cold hardy birds. We have had the heat lamp off of them for over a week and seem perfectly fine. I've watched the temperature at night and it won't drop below 50 for the next few days. I'm more concerned about the nighttime and them never having complete darkness before. I've had some light on them (small lightbulb) since getting rid of the heat lamp. Will they be okay for the first time in the coop with complete darkness at night? Thanks!
 
I put mine in a dog play pen outside during the day and it the garage at night until
l the are ready to go in their coop.
