Feeders and waterers.

I was wondering if anyone uses the same feeders and waterers for their chicks as they do for the adults. I am about to raise some chicks and thought there might be some type of feeder and waterer that could accomodate all age birds. Just curious.

It would be nice to know what everyone uses. I have seen some innovative designs.

I use the feeders and waterers that are made to screw on a mason jar. The chicks are usually in a confined space and the smaller feeders give more moving around room. The heat lamp will make for changing water more often, so the smaller the better! Besides, it makes it hard to fall in and drown in the water if it is chick sized.

Adult birds drink alot of water and need larger waters than chicks do.

Chick waters are designed for small birds so they don't drown in the water trough.

However larger birds need a deeper trough to be able to get a good drink and along that thought many drinks. It is crucial that adult birds don't run out of water.
