What should I do ????

Hi Everybody,
It's me again with a question....
Actually first off, my Silkie with the 6 chicks born this week, they are all doin GREAT!!!
I went in the barn tonite to tuck everybody in and I found my Buff Silkie hen sitting on 1 egg. Should I let her go through with it ? I looked around for other eggs but found none....
Is it getting too late??
Will 1 chick be Ok without buddies her own age??? idunno
Help!!

Hi Sue,
She should be fine with one chick.
You did not say what part of the country you are in.
I just had chicks hatch yesterday.
I put four that I want to keep out with a broody
and I will be selling the rest as pets locally.
I will not hatch any more until spring.
I have hatched year round in the past but now seem to have a grip on my addiction.
I would not recomend hatching late in the year to newbies.
It can be tricky and stressful.
