Do you think that once one hen starts brooding that the other hens get jellies and start to brood as well?

Im either dead and I havent done anything that I want or Im still alive and I have nothing I want to do.

all of these are sooo cute!

i only have ducks and my hen isn't broody, so no pics here! i was just wondering if older hens are more likely to go broody. i've been wondering that.

A lot of people say older hens are more likely to become broody. but the broody hens I had were broody before they were even a year old. And get this, they were both at the bottom of the pecking order.

Peppa,
Awesome broody hen!
Fun Fact: Set for 42 days before getting her babies. First 21 days was a bust. out of 7 eggs NONE hatched. I put 9 more under her and out of 9 eggs only 3 hatched. She was full force broody right through the ice storm in kentucky.

Well...not as many as you would think because I wasn't expecting all of them to do that!  The first had been brrody for about two weeks...I had marked like 7 eggs and was removing the others.  Then one kinda acted broody...then two days later everybody was in there.  Now they won't let me check!  Try finding a non guarded end...I am just leaving them alone now!  The rooster is such a confused feller!
