I want to know too... please!

I think the mille fleur cochin thread wants to know how you went about it! If you posted a new thead in the Breeds & Genetics section we would all be thrilled to find our more about your lovely chickens!

Did you get the color from another breed?

Or did you mix different leghorns... oh so many questions!

Fascinating!

Today I received my order of standard Mille Fleur Leghorn chicks from Sandhill Preservation. If I had known that you had some, I SO would have purchased some of yours!

Quick question to you, Terry, because you are probably one of the very few people I can ask... the chicks I received seem to come in two colors only... lots of little lemon yellow chicks and more rusty colored/chipmunk-stripe-backed chicks. I bought straight-run MLLs... is it possible to sex them already? If so, which is which?

Thank you so much... sorry to have thrown a tangent into your post.

P.S. Your birds are beautiful! I hope mine are that pretty!!!

South Bay mom to 4 great kids, 2 german shepherds, 2 rescue cats. Seriously addicted to chickens! Love my incubators! Hens: 2 BLRWs, 1 blue cochin, 1 frizzle splash cochin, 1 spec. sussex, 1 olive egger, 1 cuckoo marans. Chicks: ameracauna, welsummer, marans, ss hamburg, andalusian...

For sale: 1 (John Blehm) lavender Ameracauna roo. Several hatchery ameracaunas & andalusian pullet chicks.

You will get diffrent coloring in the chicks and the adults sometimes because when they made the Mille Fleur Leghorns they used several breeds to perfect it. So some times the birds kick out some of the breeds coloring. I hope that helps!!
