I love all the beautiful colors EEs come in, and I'm getting my first EE chick on Monday celebrate , so I'd love to see what some of your beautiful EEs looked like as chicks, and what color they grew up to be.  Would anyone care to share some pictures?big_smile

I only kept one out of all the EEs I have had the last year, she was my favorite so far.

This is Aurora

(Don't mind the scabs on her comb, she crashed into the door of the coop. She's NOT the smart one!)

Thanks so much for the pictures, guys! big_smile You all have some beautiful birds, and it's cool to see how they transform from their chick colors into their adult feathers.

Aurora looked so lightly chipmunky from her picture, but she grew up to have beautiful rich colors and those great columbian type markings.  And Chippy was so dark--I wouldn't have guessed she'd grow up with so much blue--very cool!  And Big Bird!  Boy, from looking at her when she was hatched you could almost confuse her with a BO or some white chick, but she grew up to be so splashy and fancy--neat!

If all goes well, I'm going to pick my chicks up today, and I can't wait to see what the EE looks like!  I'll post pictures when I get them--but in the meantime, please keep your pictures coming!!!

Thanks!!!

NRacine's last one gives me hope!
Both of mine are about 5 weeks old and very light and splotchy looking. I was really hoping for darker and more interesting feathering.
I only have 2 and they're about 5 weeks old now...
Muffy:

looked a couple of weeks later like this:

Today at 5 weeks old:

Wow, Molly did look a lot like Big Bird as a chick, so maybe she will get darker!  But I think that Muffy and Molly are both very striking now, too!  I love Muffy's beard, and they both have such beautiful, hawk-like faces.

Well, I got my first chicks today!!  So exciting!!  They don't have names yet, but here are a couple pics of my EE girl from Meyer Hatchery.  I'll update when her feathers start to change!
