how to raise humidity!!!!!????

You can put a sponge in there, but be careful...don't soak the sponge too much or your humidity will go way too high.  Start with a damp sponge...you can always add more water to it if you need too.

I've heard that its not the amount of water you have in there, its the surface area that is exposed. Try adding a few shallow trays of water, or a sponge as someone has already suggested.

you can use damp sponges  or shallow pan of water , if it still wont get up where you want it , run a humidifier in the room you are hatching in right below your hatcher usually works great !

The easiest way to raise the humidity without getting it to high is to mist the eggs with hot water. Do this in the morning and evening. You can do it up to the point they are pipping then stop and don't open the incubator. It is simple and it works well.

Hey Clayton, I can not believe you can only have 27 percent humidity with what you are doing! How are you measuring that?

Do you have your vents closed?  That could be one contributing factor.  Chris is right about the surface area.  Where is the bator located?  If it is by a window, a heater or a woodstove, those can dry it out too.  I have a humidifier in the little hatching room I have right now.  I also had to put several sponges and keep the vents closed.

I know some hatch at 55 but that has been too low for me.  My house and incubators need 65 in the last several days.

I moved my bators to my small bathroom we don't use and put in 2 humidifiers. Keep the door closed as well and I only get up to about 50%. Good luck.
